The following blog is a segment of a five-part series regarding the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry’s (CPI) 62nd Annual Polyurethanes Technical Conference.
One of the most anticipated and asked about portions of the Polyurethanes Technical Conference this October is the Professional Development Program (PDP). These educational and training courses offer in-depth discussion and hands-on instruction for both polyurethane veterans and industry newcomers.
Professional Development Program Highlights: PU 102A and PU 102B
Continuing our inside look at the different PDP courses offered, exploring the 102 series, which is geared towards industry newcomers who desire a comprehensive understanding of flexible polyurethane foam and the rigid polyurethane foam.
PU 102A: Flexible Polyurethane Market Overview (Monday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) provides an overall look at the flexible polyurethane foam market, the chemistry of flexible polyurethane, and different foam test methods. Participants can learn about the raw materials that make up flexible polyurethane foam, how they’re processed, and how flexible foam is used in a variety of different applications. PU 102B: Rigid Polyurethane Foam Market Overview (Monday, Oct. 7, from 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.) presents a chance to learn about the characteristics of rigid polyurethane foam. The course starts with an introduction on what rigid foam is, followed by the physical testing of its flame retardant performance, and concludes with outlining its different application technologies.
Insight from an Expert
We asked Lee Salamone, Senior Director of CPI, what industry professionals should know about the PDP:
“In order to keep moving the polyurethanes industry forward, we must continue to educate and innovate. CPI offers these courses each year as part of our commitment to increase our collective knowledge, share ideas, and make our industry stronger. These courses are led by the best experts in their respective fields, ensuring a top-flight learning experience and continued excellence in instruction that keeps participants coming back each year.”
Keep checking back for more insight like this from Lee and other conference stakeholders as we review more PDP courses. But for those who haven’t yet locked in their plans to attend this year’s conference, here are a couple of closing reminders:
