Tomorrow morning, March 20, nearly 200 energy and environmental advocates will gather at The Newseum in Washington, DC to discuss a topic of mutual interest: finding a regulatory framework that maximizes the economic and national security benefits of U.S. shale gas production while maintaining our nation’s commitment to protecting the environment.
The policy summit, “Unleashing Potential: Finding the Best Regulatory Environment to Boost Responsible Natural Gas Production,” is hosted by the National Journal Live in partnership with the American Chemistry Council.
The discussion will be moderated by National Journal reporter Amy Harder. Featured speakers include Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), in additional to a panel of distinguished experts and industry leaders: Kenneth Green, Resident Scholar, American Enterprise Institute; Dusty Horwitt, Senior Counsel, Environmental Working Group; Jason Hutt, Partner, Bracewell & Giuliani LLP; and David Neslin, Former Director, Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
The event will be live-streamed via the National Journal’s homepage at 8:00 a.m. EDT and will be available for download through Wednesday, March 21. You may download a copy of the program and agenda here.
Be sure to follow @AmChemistry on Twitter for live-updates from the event. Attendees and live-streamers are also invited to participate in the discussion using the hashtags #Chemistry2Energy and #njnatgas.
