New Products from Used Materials
posted by Jeff Wooster Wednesday, May 13, 2009 8:27pmThe really exciting thing about all the new products made from recycled products is that they often work just as well as products made from virgin materials and the consumer doesn’t have to do anything special to enjoy using them. Businesses understand that consumers want to do the right thing, and making it easy to help conserve our natural resources by using a product made from recycled materials is one easy way to help.
We recently ordered a home composter on-line, and after ordering it discovered that it was made from recycled PVC. Now, as a scientist I knew that it was possible to reprocess PVC and make it into something useful, but I had not seen a product on the market that made such an excellent use of so much recycled plastic. Bravo to all the companies out there working to bring us consumers useful new products made from recycled materials!

Hello Jeff,
Can you tell me what company makes those composter with recycled PVC? Because that is an unwanted plastic in the recycling business here in Quebec because of the chloride in it.
I’m doing a research about giving an added value to plastic waste and I wish to find something to do with the PVC and polystyrene so your composter manufacturer interests me a lot.
